Laura Ootes

Laura Ootes is a skilled Research Software Engineer at the Netherlands eScience Center since December 2021, with prior experience as a Data Scientist at Transactie Monitoring Nederland from May to November 2021 and as a Consultant in Forensic Technology at KPMG Nederland from January 2020 to April 2021. Laura completed a PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on the thermal evolution of neutron stars in transiently accreting X-ray binaries, from September 2015 to September 2019. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Astronomy & Astrophysics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astronomy, both from the University of Amsterdam, as well as foundational education at Leiden University and Barlaeus Gymnasium.
