Kanishka Waghmare is a PhD candidate and researcher at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience since July 2017, focusing on behavioral experiments with rhesus macaques to study multitasking and spatial awareness, alongside analyzing electrophysiological data using MATLAB. Previously, Kanishka served as a Research Assistant at the University of Göttingen from September 2016 to June 2017, conducting experiments on mice to explore cortical development in the visual system during the critical period. Kanishka's academic background includes a Master's degree in Neuroscience from the International Max Planck Research School and the Université de Bordeaux, as well as a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Early research experiences also include internships at Universitätsmedizin Göttingen and the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, focusing on auditory processing and the properties of interneurons, respectively.
