Derek Warner is a highly experienced cybersecurity professional with a background in information assurance engineering and system security engineering. Derek started their career in 2004 as a Computer System Security Analyst at Lockheed Martin, where they worked on coordinating network design teams for government agencies. In 2006, they joined General Dynamics as an Information Assurance Engineer and worked on developing statement of work and request for proposal language for multiple PEOSTRI programs. In 2008, they moved to Riptide Software, Inc and became the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer (ISSE) for CACCTUS, a 44 million dollar Marine Corp simulation and training program. Derek wrote several winning proposals and integrated IA into the system development lifecycle for DoD simulation systems utilizing ISSE principles. Derek Warner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, earned from 2002 to 2004. Derek obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Northeastern University between 2011 and 2014. Derek is CISSP certified from Intense School but did not provide information on when they obtained it. In 2011, they received an ISSEP certification from Infosec Institute, and in 2017, they added an Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) certification from (ISC)² to their credentials. Most recently, in 2018, Derek became a Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from (ISC)².
