Armen Hovhannisyan

Head of Network Architecture at Netris

Armen Hovhannisyan has over 12 years of work experience in the technology industry. From 2008 to 2012, they worked as a Junior Scientist at Yerevan Physics Institute, where they investigated cosmic ray fluxes, thunderstorm and cosmic ray particle acceleration connections, and conducted statistical analysis of cosmic ray data. Armen also developed monitoring and data filtering tools for cosmic ray data. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a System/Network Administrator at WEB ISP, where they configured and installed switches and wifi access points for customers, configured layer 3 switches to provide redundancy in the distribution layer of the network, and tested and configured Huawei and HIOSO EPON/GPON OLT/ONU for providing internet and VoIP services. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as an IP Network Engineer at Orange Armenia, where they configured, maintained and monitored core backbone routers, switches, and management servers, and designed and planned IP/MPLS networks. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as Head of Core Network Unit at Ucom LLC. Finally, from 2019 to present, they have been working as Head of Network Architecture at Netris [formerly XCloud Networks].

Armen Hovhannisyan's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cosmic Ray Physics from the Yerevan Physics Institute from 2009 to 2012, a Master's degree in Nuclear Physics from Yerevan State University from 2007 to 2009, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Physics and Mathematics from Yerevan State University from 2003 to 2007. Armen also has certifications from Cisco Systems and Brainbench, including Cisco Certified Network Associate, Cisco Networking Concepts, IP Routing and Switching, Networking Concepts, TCP/IP Administration, and Unix Administration (General).
