Maricelle Brümmer's work experience includes several roles in marketing, communications, and content creation. Most recently, they worked at Netstock as a Marketing Communications Manager and a Social Media Manager. Prior to that, they were a Social Media and Content Manager at The Cheese Has Moved, where they were responsible for managing social media strategies, writing blog and email content, and reporting on social media activities.
Maricelle also gained experience as an Inbound Marketing and Social Media Specialist at Spitfire Inbound, where they used inbound and social media strategies to engage with an audience and communicate with the sales department.
Earlier in their career, Brümmer worked as an Editorial and Production Assistant at DEKAT MAGAZINE, where they wrote and edited content and sourced content for the magazine and television production. Maricelle also served as an Online Editor at The Oppidan Press, a student newspaper, where they managed content for their website.
Additionally, they had an internship at SABC where they learned the basics of translating, editing, and writing short Afrikaans news bulletins.
Brümmer started their career as a Sports Journalist at Perdeby Student News.
Maricelle Brümmer completed their Bachelor of Journalism (BJourn) degree in New Media from Rhodes University, from the year 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a BA in Languages with a specialization in Journalism at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria in 2009. Maricelle completed their Matriculation (equivalent to high school) from Hoërskool Kempton Park between 2006 and 2008. Maricelle also attended Hoërskool Jeugland from 2004 to 2005. Maricelle'sprimary education was at Laerskool Edleen from 1997 to 2003. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Nano Tips for Optimizing Your Content for Social Media Algorithms from LinkedIn in May 2023.
