Sharon Mawhinney

Sharon Mawhinney is currently the State Manager for New South Wales at Network Rail Consulting, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this role, Sharon served as the Director of Infrastructure Advisory at Cardus Consulting from November 2019 to October 2023. Sharon has extensive experience in the rail and infrastructure sectors, including a tenure as General Manager - Advisory & Rail at AMEY CONSULTING and Infrastructure Advisory Business Lead - Rail & NSW at Arcadis. Previous roles include Director of Capital Projects at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Management Consultant at Everything Infrastructure Group. Sharon began professional experience as a Senior Associate & NSW Rail Sector Lead at Evans & Peck and has held various other consulting and managerial positions, including Project Manager at Tenix and Managing Consultant at Indec Consulting. Educational qualifications include a BEng in Civil Engineering and Economics from the University of Dundee and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance from Kaplan Education. Sharon is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) in the UK.
