John Murray

John Murray has a wealth of experience in the field of DSP engineering, having worked in this capacity for Neural DSP Technologies since 2019, Xperi Corporation since 2018, Auro Technologies N.V. from 2013 to 2018, Neuratron Ltd from 2012 to 2013, Blackstar Amplification Ltd from 2011 to 2012, Rockstar Games from 2008 to 2011, and Imerge Ltd from 2006 to 2008. At Auro Technologies N.V., they developed, implemented, and optimized Encoders and Decoders on various platforms, while at Neuratron Ltd, they researched areas such as Music Transcription, Spectral Modelling, Transient Analysis, and Sound Synthesis. At Blackstar Amplification Ltd, they developed an Audio Framework on a 214xx Sharc DSP and optimized all areas of the code in assembler. At Rockstar Games, they worked on all audio related areas and the game audio system, including the audio engine, audio tools, and the build process. John also served as Director and DSP Consultant for Isimo Audio Ltd from 2015 to 2018.

John Murray completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Music Technology from the University of York in 2020. Before that, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Digital Music Processing from Queen Mary University of London in 2009. John also completed a Master of Research (MRes) in Interactive Intelligent Systems from the University of Plymouth in 2006. Their education history began with a Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc Hons) in Music Technology and Audio Systems Design from the University of Derby in 2005.
