Hung-Yu Lin is the current Vice President of Research & Development at Neuro42. Prior to this, they were the Technical Program Lead at Philips-Vanteon from January 2020 to December 2021. There, they were overall responsible for the scope, definition, delivery and success of a series of research and development projects. This included designing and developing next-generation MR system architecture and generic software communication interface between an MR console and transceivers. Hung-Yu also executed and hands-on development of XML-based protocol for rapid and reliable wire or wireless data communication. In addition, they developed, optimized and verified software to perform conversion between vendor-specific pulse sequences and generic XML-based structure for reliable MR acquisition.

Before joining Philips-Vanteon, Hung-Yu Lin was the Director of R&D in Computer Vision at UniPlast Corporation from January 2015 to December 2016. There they led and managed six team members and developed imaging software solutions to perform automatic optical inspection for industrial applications. Hung-Yu also created a product road map and successfully executed product development and the initial launch into mass market within 12 months. Furthermore, they generated and managed product specification documents and development schedules ensuring production met design requirements and launch strategies. Lastly, they managed multiple partnerships with automobile and medical device industry including computer accessory manufacturers and consumer electronics companies to develop working prototypes on 3-6-month timelines.

Hung-Yu Lin's educational career includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University. Hung-Yu also holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University.
