Hanbiao Yang

Hanbiao Yang is a highly experienced professional in the fields of patent law and scientific research, currently serving as Senior Patent Counsel at Neurocrine Biosciences since March 2020. Prior to this role, Yang contributed significantly to Peloton Therapeutics, where responsibilities included building the IP portfolio from inception, prosecuting patent applications globally, and providing strategic patent counseling to the R&D team, along with presenting IP matters to various stakeholders. Yang’s extensive background also includes roles as a Senior Scientist, notably co-inventing first-in-class HIF-2α antagonists for cancer treatment, and experience in patent prosecution and research at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati, 3-V Biosciences, Roche Palo Alto, and GSK. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Stanford University and current studies toward a J.D. at the University of San Diego School of Law.
