Pedro Cruz

Pedro Cruz is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of Data Science at Neurocrine Biosciences since April 2024, Pedro previously held leadership positions at Resilience and The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where responsibilities included building high-performing teams focused on innovative cell and gene therapy platforms and addressing complex data projects, such as distributed clinical trials and genomic data analysis. Prior to these roles, Pedro held various positions at Illumina, where efforts included establishing a Data Science roadmap and developing clinical interpretation for significant projects. Pedro's career began as a Bioinformatics Specialist at the NIH/NHGRI, contributing to the analysis of high-throughput sequencing datasets. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Universidade de Aveiro and advanced degrees in Bioprocessing Technologies and Leadership and Management, Pedro combines technical expertise with leadership skills in data science and bioinformatics.
