Xikun Liu

Xikun Liu is a computational chemist at Neurocrine Biosciences since August 2023, and has been contributing as an ACP student at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since June 2021. Xikun gained experience through multiple internships and as a summer intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a teaching assistant at UC Santa Barbara from September 2018 to June 2023, Xikun prepared course materials and taught General Chemistry Lab, Quantum Mechanics, and Physical Chemistry, while also creating online instructional videos. Xikun's research assistant role involved drug discovery projects targeting polypeptide aggregation using machine learning and molecular modeling techniques, leading to significant work on Alzheimer’s-related protein and SARS-CoV-2. Xikun holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara and previously earned BS degrees in Chemistry from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Sun Yat-sen University.
