Raphael Nir

Raphael Nir has an extensive background in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Raphael co-founded NeuroDex in 2018 and serves as a Board Member. Prior to that, in 2017, they co-founded Vuja De Sciences and worked as a Preclinical Development Consultant. In 2016, they co-founded and was the Managing Partner of ABI-LAB, a Boston-based Accelerator and Bio-Incubator that supports start-up companies in their drug discovery programs. Additionally, in 2014, Raphael co-founded Alma Bio Therapeutics, a Lyon-based start-up focused on developing curative immune-modulator drugs for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Raphael held various roles at SBH Sciences, a biotechnology company, starting in 1997. Raphael co-founded the company and served as the President, CSO, and later as the President and CSO of SBH Diagnostics, a Contract Research Organization and CLIA Lab dedicated to biomarker analysis services. Raphael also co-founded Sky Ventures, an investment group that provides seed funding to early-stage life science and healthcare companies. Raphael's earlier experience includes positions at Schering-Plough and the Schering-Plough Research Institute, where they worked as a Senior Scientist and Associate Principal Scientist, respectively, from 1990 to 1997.

Raphael Nir completed a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Tel Aviv University from 1979 to 1982. Raphael then pursued a Master's Degree in Biochemistry from the same institution, graduating in 1984. Subsequently, Raphael obtained a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University from 1984 to 1990. Raphael continued their education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Finance, General from 1995 to 1997.
