Andrew Kuiken

Chief Physician Assistant at Neurosurgeons of New Jersey

Andrew Kuiken has worked in the medical field since 2011. Andrew began their career at Neurosurgeons Of New Jersey as the Chief Physician Assistant, where they developed experience in neurocritical care and first assisting in neurosurgical cases. In 2017, they joined Valley Health System as a Critical Care Physician Assistant. In 2020, they moved to Sound Physicians in the same role, and in 2021 they joined Atlantic Health System as a Critical Care Physician Assistant. In all of their roles, they have been able to formulate and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients independently and has been trained on the use of ultrasound in a critical care setting. Andrew is also skilled in intubation, central venous catheter, arterial line, and chest tube placement.

Andrew Kuiken has an extensive education history. In 2007, they obtained a Certificate of Paramedicine from Guardian College in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic). In 2009, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Physician Assistant. Andrew also holds certifications in Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive (CBRNE) from FEMA, Incident Command Systems ICS 100&200 from FEMA, Medical Managment of Chemical and Biological Casualties from FEMA, National Incident Managment Systems (NIMS) Level 700 from FEMA, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) from the American College of Surgeons, Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) from the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) from the Neurocritical Care Society. Andrew also holds certifications in Conflicts of Interest, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS), Human Subjects Research - Biomedical, and Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) from the CITI Program. Andrew is currently enrolled in Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and is pursuing a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc).
