Safety Manager
Summary:
This position is responsible for managing Safety initiatives, coordinating training, and advising best practices with regard to health and safety at NGi. Incumbent will support operations across branches to identify at-risk activities, compose safer resolutions, thus reducing the risk of job site accidents and incidents. Through regional travel, the Safety Manager will visit job sites, to conduct ongoing Safety visits and Safety training. Incumbent will coordinate and lead the safety team and communicate resolutions for identified safety hazards and exposures.
Duties and Required Skills:
- Be and be seen as the single point EHS contact for the region/area assigned.
- Assist area superintendent in facilitating safety requirements on all assigned projects.
- Facilitate compliance to NEVELL training requirements in the region/area assigned.
- Facilitate the completion of incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Routinely audit all projects in the region/area assigned.
- Active involvement in Operations Safety Committee Team, Foremen’s meetings, and other identified teams.
- Complete and facilitate the implementation of the project specific Safety Manual for all projects.
- Ensure 100% compliance to NEVELL Safety Policies and procedures.
- Foster Injury Free Environment by developing positive relationships with GC, Subs, and trade workers.
- Facilitate the planning of hazard mitigation for high risk activities.
- Formally documents Project Safety Audits and drives resolution to action items noted.
- Facilitate the incident investigation process to ensure root cause identification and lessons learned are shared for each injury or near miss.
- Ensure NEVELL fully complies with EHS Program, GC, Fed, State and local regulations.
- Manage the safety of Nevell second tiered sub-contractors
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
- Support the projects in the maintenance/distribution of appropriate supply levels of safety equipment/supplies/first aid material for the project.
- Be the liaison between Nevell and General Contractors, other subcontractors, insurance safety representatives, unions, and State/Federal Regulatory safety agencies.
- Assist the safety director in ensuring all employees injured on the assigned project receive the appropriate medical care.
- Oversee the assigned projects safety documentation record keeping and distribution.
- Maintaining a professional relationship with all GC/Client and Nevell team members including but not limited to the craft, field supervisors, superintendents, PEs, PMs, and DOs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in related field OR 5 years of relevant field experience.
- OSHA certification preferred.

- Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Computer Skills:
Must demonstrate mastery of technical computer skills; proficiency in MS Office Suite and other job specific technical software.
