Lisa Guernsey

Lisa Guernsey is a seasoned education policy expert with extensive experience in early childhood through K-12 education. Currently serving as Senior Director of Education Policy at New America since January 2016, Guernsey has also held various leadership roles, including Director and Co-Founder of the Learning Sciences Exchange and Senior Fellow. Previous positions include Director of the Early Education Initiative and Senior Policy Analyst at the New America Foundation, as well as freelance writing for notable online publications, magazines, and newspapers. Guernsey's career began as a reporter for the New York Times and includes a significant tenure as Associate Editor at The Chronicle of Higher Education. Guernsey holds both BA and MA degrees in English from the University of Virginia.
