Daniel Dempsey

Daniel Dempsey, PhD, has extensive experience in the field of plastics engineering and manufacturing innovation, currently serving as the Director of Manufacturing Innovation and Engineering at New Balance since January 2013. Prior roles at New Balance include Senior Manager, Engineering Manager, Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer, and Rapid Prototype and Additive Manufacturing Engineer. From January 2020 to January 2023, Daniel held the position of Technical Program Chair for the Society of Plastics Engineers - Eastern New England Section, engaging with a network of over 400 polymer scientists and engineers. Previously, Daniel was a Research Assistant at UMass Lowell, focusing on micro molding of microfluidic devices, and worked as a Design Engineer at Beaumont Technologies, Inc. Daniel holds a Ph.D. and an MS in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, along with a BS in Plastics Engineering Technology from Penn State University.
