Hanlu Liu is a Scientist at New Culture, where they work on fermentation. Hanlu has previous experience as a Senior Fermentation Engineer at Visolis, Inc., where they were responsible for characterizing engineered microbes, designing and optimizing microbial fermentation processes, analyzing product quality, and assisting in pilot scale downstream processing. Hanlu also conducted technology transfer of fermentation process to pilot and commercial scale and supported initial production. Prior to their work at Visolis, Hanlu was a Student Consultant at Zymergen, Inc., where they identified applications for novel materials, completed market and technology assessments for electronic materials, and presented key findings and recommendations to company management.
Hanlu Liu's educational career includes a Master of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Hanlu also has experience in Operations & Process Summer Lab from Zhejiang University.
