Benjamin Asfaw

Chief Quality Officer, SVP at New England Donor Services

Benjamin Asfaw has extensive experience in the field of quality management in healthcare. Benjamin began their career at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2001 and served as the Director of Quality Management & Education until 2008. Benjamin then joined the National Patient Safety Foundation as a Senior Director from 2008 to 2009. Benjamin then moved on to South Shore Hospital, where they held the role of Director of Quality Management from November 2009 to March 2012, and subsequently became the Vice President of Quality from March 2012 to April 2021. Since April 2021, Benjamin has been working at New England Donor Services, first as the Senior Vice President of Quality Systems, and currently as the Chief Quality Officer and Senior Vice President.

Benjamin Asfaw completed their undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University from 1989 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Biology. Benjamin then pursued further education at the University of Michigan from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Master's degree in Health Administration (MHSA) with a specialization in Health Administration.
