Jason MacInnis, P. Eng has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Jason began their career in 2007 as a Surveyor at LNB Construction Inc., where they worked until 2011. In 2012, they returned to LNB Construction Inc. as a Surveyor/Supervisor for a brief period.

In 2014, Jason joined Vale as an Engineering Summer Student for a few months before moving on to New Gold Inc. in 2015. At New Gold Inc., they started as a Tailings Quality Control EIT and worked their way up through several roles, including Tailings Cost Controller, Tailings Engineer, and Senior Tailings Engineer.

Currently, Jason holds the position of Chief Tailings Engineer at New Gold Inc., where they are responsible for the safe and environmentally responsible stewardship of site dams and tailings facilities. Jason leads the engineering, planning, and dam safety teams and manages the Engineers of Record and Independent Tailings Review Board.

Jason MacInnis, P. Eng has a strong education background in the field of engineering. Jason began their education in 2004 at Thompson Rivers University, where they obtained a Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology in 2007.
