Alice Esperanza

Alice Esperanza has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Alice currently holds the position of New Harvest Research Fellow at New Harvest since January 2021. Prior to this, Alice worked at Deloitte as a Business Technology Analyst from July 2019 to January 2021.

Alice also gained research experience at Vanderbilt University, where they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in 2018. During this time, they focused on determining the efficacy of synthesized small molecule CDN1163 as an allosteric activator of SERCA2b in H4IIEC3 cells in vitro. Alice also characterized the gluconeogenic fluxes of metabolites in the livers and kidneys of liver-specific PEPCK-C knockout mice.

In 2017, Alice was a Proctor at Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth, where they organized daily events for student groups and provided guidance and support to their assigned proctor group. Alice was also involved in organizing weekly events for a larger student population and worked within a team to delegate responsibilities.

Moreover, Alice served as a Chemistry Lab Store Attendant at Vanderbilt University from August 2016 to May 2017. Their responsibilities included preparing, organizing, and distributing lab materials for general chemistry labs. Alice also graded laboratory results for accuracy.

Alice gained research experience in 2016 as a Student Researcher in the SyBBURE Program at Vanderbilt University, where they focused on determining the mechanism of electron transfer in biohybrid solar cells and improving laboratory dropcasting methods.

Additionally, Alice worked as a Student Researcher at the ION Program at Georgia State University in 2015.

Furthermore, Alice gained customer service experience as a Cashier/Drive Thru Attendant at Steak n Shake in 2013, where they took and fulfilled orders, resolved customer complaints, and provided information about food options.

Alice Esperanza's education history begins with their obtaining a High School Diploma from Milton High School, which they completed between 2012 and 2015. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, with minors in Chemistry and Spanish at Vanderbilt University from 2015 to 2019. Alice then went on to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath, beginning in 2021 and expected to complete in 2025.
