Sami Smyth

Sami Smyth, CVA, MPA, currently serves as the Director of Development at New Hope Housing since December 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Community Engagement and Events Manager at PRS, Inc. from September 2021 to December 2023, and a combination of positions at New Hope Housing from August 2016 to September 2021, including Manager of Volunteer Programs and Volunteer Coordinator. Sami's career began with Volunteer Alexandria as the Alternative Community Service and Operations Manager from January 2014 to August 2016, managing community service programs for individuals referred by the courts. Earlier roles include Learning Links AmeriCorps Member at Greenbrier Learning Center, and internships at the U.S. Department of Commerce and Coalition for Community Schools. Sami holds a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and International Studies from Virginia Tech.
