Maggie Peters is an accomplished economic development professional with extensive experience in supporting small businesses, particularly those owned by women, minorities, and veterans. Currently serving as the Director of Small Business Services at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority since March 2020, Maggie oversees strategies and programs that enhance the growth of small businesses in New Jersey. Previous roles include Executive Director of the Fair Lawn Economic Development Corporation and Senior Vice President of Economic Development at the Business Council of Westchester. Maggie’s career has encompassed various leadership positions within economic development organizations in New Jersey, where strong emphasis has been placed on business attraction, retention, and expansion. Maggie holds an M.A. in Public Policy and International Affairs and a B.A. in Political Science from William Paterson University, along with advanced training in Economic Development from the University of Oklahoma and International Public Policy Studies from the University of Cambridge.
