Timothy McGoughran Esq.

Timothy McGoughran, Esq., has an extensive work experience in the legal field. Timothy is currently serving as the President of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Prior to this role, they held the position of First Vice President in the same organization. In 2010, Timothy founded their own law firm, called the Law Office of Timothy F. McGoughran, LLC. Timothy has also worked as a Municipal Judge for the Township of Ocean from 2012 to 2023. Additionally, Timothy has held various roles in the New Jersey State Bar Association, including Treasurer, Secretary, and Member of the Board of Trustees. Timothy has also served as the Chair of the Family Law Section within the association. Prior to these positions, Timothy worked as a Municipal Prosecutor for Ocean Township and was a Partner at Lucas & McGoughran, LLC. Timothy has also served as the President of the Monmouth Bar Association.

Timothy McGoughran, Esq. completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh, from 1978 to 1982. Timothy then pursued their Juris Doctorate at Seton Hall University School of Law, specializing in Law, from 1983 to 1986. In addition to their educational background, they obtained certification in Rule 1:40 Family Law Mediator Training from the New Jersey Courts in December 2021.
