Barbara Gallo-Compton

Senior Manager, Institutional Giving at New Jersey Symphony

Barbara Gallo-Compton is the current Manager of Institutional Giving at the New Jersey Symphony. Prior to their current position, Barbara was a Contract Grant Writer at Meals on Wheels of Mercer County from December 2020 to July 2021. In this role, Barbara was responsible for supporting organizational strategic goals by generating grant revenue from a comprehensive portfolio of sources. Barbara also prepared, submitted, and managed grant applications and proposals accurately and on time, as well as performed targeted prospect research.

Before their time at Meals on Wheels of Mercer County, Gallo-Compton worked as the Donor Relations Coordinator for Institutional Advancement/CPCC Foundation at Central Piedmont Community College from October 2018 to July 2020. In this role, they collaborated with the CEO and staff to create a plan to engage potential funders for grants and donations, and also stewarded and cultivated existing and prospective funders.

From January 2017 to December 2020, Gallo-Compton was a Teacher/Creator/Owner at Get Up & Van Gogh. In this role, they taught art classes and created paintings that were sold online and in galleries.

From January 2015 to May 2017, Gallo-Compton worked as a Temporary Development Specialist at the Arts & Science Council. In this role, they were responsible for managing and updating grant software, as well as performing administrative duties related to fundraising.

Ms. Gallo-Compton has a Master of Public Administration from UNC Charlotte and a MA in French Studies from New York University. Barbara also has a BA in English Literature from Pace University.
