The Strategy team is looking for a Director of Strategic Growth to help drive the business in this accelerated phase of growth through the development, structuring, and activation of new market opportunities.

The Director of Strategic Growth will play a critical leadership role in driving the company's growth strategy at the intersection of technical strategy and market development. This individual will be responsible for identifying and executing growth initiatives, developing strategic partnerships, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals. The Director of Strategic Growth will work closely with senior leadership to align growth strategies with the overall business objectives and ensure the company’s long-term success. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of critical climate technologies and applied experience within climate-focused advisory, venture capital, or high-growth startups.

Role & Responsibilities:

Growth Strategy Development:

  • Provide technical expertise to develop theses, positioning and go-to-market strategies for new geographies
  • Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and revenue streams.
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and internal capabilities to inform growth initiatives.

Business Development and Partnerships:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and potential acquisition targets.
  • Lead negotiations and manage strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
  • Initiate, structure, and close high-leverage, high-value initiatives and deals to accelerate Newlab’s growth strategy 

Market Expansion:

  • Oversee market research and analysis to identify new geographic markets and potential areas for expansion.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies and work closely with marketing, sales and product teams to implement expansion plans.
  • Leverage technical expertise to drive concept and partnership development for pilot sites and/or commercialization infrastructure tied to large-scale funding opportunities or market expansion

Performance Management:

  • Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of growth initiatives, and adjust strategies based on data and changing market conditions.
  • Provide regular reports to the executive team on growth progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Financial Oversight:

  • Work with the finance team to develop budgets and forecasts for growth initiatives.
  • Ensure that growth strategies are financially viable and contribute to the overall profitability of the company.
  • Manage risks associated with growth initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s risk appetite

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in global strategic planning, business development, or related roles, with a proven track record of driving growth in a similar industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience with M&A and managing large-scale projects is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary expected to be between $150k-$185k USD commensurate with experience.
