Who we are: New Land Hospitality Group is a division of New Land Enterprises, which is a real estate development firm specializing in mixed-use residential and commercial real estate. Some of NLE's memorable and vibrant commercial spaces are run by our Hospitality division as a way for NLE to ensure a positive impact in our very own neighborhoods. 

What we do: New Land Hospitality Group manages Crossroads Collective Food Hall on the East Side, and also operates bar businesses including Pharmacy Bar inside Crossroads Collective Food Hall; Shanghai Speakeasy in Black Cat Alley; and Canopy Bar, a private bar located on the 25th floor of Ascent apartment building. 

Available Opportunity: New Land Hospitality Group is currently hiring a General Manager, who is responsible for overall financial health and direct oversight of Crossroads Collective Food Hall, including Pharmacy Bar and Shanghai Speakeasy. In addition to their primary responsibilities, it is the General Manager’s job to build a win/win partnership with our vendors and team members, drive revenue through marketing campaigns and activations, and ensure our guests receive nothing but exceptional service.   

Qualifications 

Required 

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience as a General Manager in a hotel or restaurant
  • 2+ years of P&L responsibility managing at least a one million dollar budget

Preferred 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of experience as a Property Manager
  • 2+ years of experience as a Bartender
  • Restaurant opening experience

Job Duties, including but not limited to: 

Financial 

  • Produces financial statements and sales reports vs budgeted and forecasted goals to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
  • Approves all operational expenses.
  • Coordinates and oversees timely and accurate biweekly inventory.
  • Proactively tracks all vendor sales on a weekly basis and maintains regular open discussions with vendors on trends and their own marketing initiatives.

Operational 

  • Responsible for overall guest experience.

  • Responsible for overall function of the space including food safety, cleanliness, and maintenance.

  • Builds win-win partnerships with vendor partners.

  • Facilitates open communication and proposes solutions for gaps in operational processes, training, guest service, and vendor management to vendor partners.

  • Conducts regular property inspections in person, taking appropriate actions to ensure that the physical aspects of the property and amenities meet established standards for safety, cleanliness, general appearance, and appeal.

  • Provides tours and general overview of the business model and operation to potential vendors.

  • Manages the vendor owner relationship, and responds to vendor requests promptly, taking appropriate action to resolve and address service issues.

  • Responsible for sourcing contractors and suppliers that align with financial and operational requirements, while ensuring that any contracts signed with suppliers are done so per company policy.

  • Oversees POS programming, training, maintenance, and function.

  • Oversees cash handling and weekly banking needs.

  • Oversees guest services and resolves issues while setting a positive example for guest relations; motivating team to provide excellent customer service experiences.

Personnel 

  • Responsible for all hiring, disciplinary, and termination processes. Provides leadership and coaching to entire team.

  • Develops a culture of teamwork, empowerment, service, and fun by ensuring all team members know why their job is important.

  • Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

  • Oversees hourly employee time clocks, schedules, and submits payroll.

  • Oversees positions including but not limited to Bar Leads, Bartenders, Dish Support Lead, Dish Support Team, and Social Media Specialist.

  • Conducts quarterly and annual employee reviews, as well as regularly scheduled 1:1s.

  • Fills in for team as needed.

Marketing 

  • Builds and executes a plan to make Crossroads Collective a part of the community by driving and supporting community endeavors.
  • Collaborates with in-house and external marketing partners to drive revenue through marketing campaigns and activations.
  • Monitors progress of annual marketing plan, adjusting as needed.

General Notes 

  • This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.  The employee will also perform other reasonable business duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • This position is full-time, and will be required to work some nights and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Must be able to use a telephone and computer, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
