Amelia la Plante Horne

Amelia La Plante Horne is an experienced professional currently serving as a Sous Chef and Production Cook at Gana-A'Yoo, Limited, where meal service is provided for 500-800 individuals at McMurdo Station, adhering to food safety standards. With a background in social services, Amelia has worked as a Socialization and Sexuality Education Provider for the New Mexico Department of Health and completed a clinical internship in the Behavioral Health Department at El Centro Family Health. Additional roles include Agroecology Research Center Fellow at UWC-USA and Logistics Coordinator for the Colorado Outward Bound School. Amelia has also contributed to advocacy for LGBTQIA+ and women’s issues as the Coordinator for the LGBTQIA+ & Women’s Advocacy Center at New Mexico Highlands University. Education includes a Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and a Bachelor of Arts from Antioch College.
