Tyson Whittaker has extensive experience in emergency management and healthcare, currently serving as Bureau Operations Administrator, Director of Department Operations Center, and Emergency Preparedness Supervisor at the New Mexico Department of Health since October 2016. Previous roles include Certified Medical Assistant at CHRISTUS Health, where Tyson provided patient care and managed administrative tasks, and Lead Sobering Technician, overseeing substance abuse care programs. Additional experience includes positions as Library Clerk for the City of Gallup, Corrections Officer for Santa Fe County, and Manager at Petco. Tyson's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management from Arkansas Tech University and several FEMA courses in crisis and disaster management. Prior military service as a Construction Mechanic in the US Navy provided technical and leadership skills.
