Alexandria Castillo Smith is an experienced professional in health care policy and administration, currently serving as Deputy Cabinet Secretary at the New Mexico Health Care Authority since July 2019, with a prior role as Acting Deputy Cabinet Secretary and Manager of Strategic Planning & Special Projects. Previous positions include Medicaid Buy-in Policy Fellow at Health Action New Mexico and various roles at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including Special Assistant and Expansion Associate. Alexandria gained experience in the political arena as Scheduler for the U.S. House of Representatives and Field Organizer for Obama for America. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Health and a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington, along with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from William & Mary.
