Kelvin Smith

Kelvin Smith is currently a Network Administrator at New Orleans Saints. Prior to that, they worked as an Operations Specialist at Piedmont Plastics from October 2012 to July 2022. In this role, they supervised and managed all operations of various construction projects with budgets up to $250K. Kelvin also planned and initiated annual quality and safety audits for 12 different territories to guarantee safe operations. Furthermore, they assured the implementation of OSHA and company standards by introducing and monitoring the EHS program for 12 territories. Utilizing their excellent communication skills, they negotiated equipment rental and purchasing as well as contracting. Kelvin also used Jira and SCRUM methodologies to effectively manage project and associated operations. Some key accomplishments during their time at Piedmont Plastics include:

- Trained team members to develop a better understanding related to safety, quality, and operation procedures.

- Played a key role in design, development, and execution of EHS, quality, and operational training programs.

- Supported branch and warehouse operations and increased efficiency by devising, employing, and delivering company-wide programs.

- Acted as a resident expert of government regulations that applied to the company’s warehouse, transportation, safety, and hazardous materials policies.

- Provided training and coaching to team members on “Best Practices”, resulting in optimal ROI and risk mitigation.

- Led in-depth analysis to evaluate and assess financial reports to examine best sources to save money

Kelvin Smith has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in Management Information Systems. Kelvin also has a Diploma from Warren Easton High School. Kelvin has served in the U.S. Marine Corps and has certification from UNICEF in Emergency Preparedness and Response as well as from Scrum Alliance in Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).

They work with Robert Crump - IT Support Specialist, Brock Orrett - IT Support Analyst, and Jody Barbier - Director, IT Operations. Kelvin Smith reports to Jeff Huffman, Senior Director, IT Security & Administration.
