Ian Magee

Ian Magee serves as the Chief Financial Officer at New Profit since 2016, bringing extensive experience in finance and operations from previous roles. Prior to New Profit, Ian held the position of Vice President of Finance and Operations at The Heron Foundation from 2012 to 2016, where responsibilities included developing operational strategies and systems. Ian also worked at the University of Chicago from 2009 to 2012, initially as Director of Financial Strategy during a financial crisis and later as Executive Director of Strategy and Research. Earlier career experience includes a Vice President role at American Express from 2001 to 2009, focusing on finance and strategy, and an Associate position at Mitchell Madison Group from 1997 to 2001. Ian holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from the University of Cambridge.
