Brian Ssebabi

Asset Manager at New Southern Energy

Brian Ssebabi is currently an Asset Manager at New Southern Energy, and was previously employed as a Consultant at Sustainable Energy Africa and a Junior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University.

As an Asset Manager at New Southern Energy, Brian is responsible for optimizing the performance of both the on and off-grid solar power plants portfolios.

Previously, as a Consultant at Sustainable Energy Africa, Brian collated documents and data relating to renewable energy drivers, policies, regulations and innovations in African cities, which was then used to feed into a regional picture of renewable energy in Africa. This information was used in the production of REN21's Renewables in Cities Global Status publication.

As a Junior Lecturer at Stellenbosch University, Brian's duties included marking and grading tests and exams, as well as setting up and conducting practicals, and marking and grading the practical reports, for Thermodynamics 244 and Fluid Mechanics 244.

Brian has also served as a Teaching Assistant at Stellenbosch University.

Brian Ssebabi has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University. Brian also has a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Kyambogo University. Brian is also certified by the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Candidate Engineer.

Their manager is Deepak John, Founder, Managing Director.
