Murray Starr

Murray Starr is currently a Project Manager at New Southern Energy. Murray has over two years of experience working as a Renewable Energy Consultant, specializing as an Owner's Engineer in the solar PV industry. In this role, they managed and performed energy yield and operational assessments, independent technology reviews, preliminary design review, detailed design review, construction monitoring, design optimisation, contract management and grid code compliance reviews on projects ranging from 1 MW to 115 MW of installed capacity with a combined project portfolio of over 2GW. Murray has also been involved in preliminary site layout designs in preparation for RMIPP and REIPPPP bidding rounds as well as projects to be developed under private Power Purchase Agreements. In addition, they have carried out site inspection punch list write ups for utility scale and rooftop projects, verifying the installations are compliant with designs and standards and that the quality of the installation is in line with expectations of the Employer / Lender.

Murray Starr attended Maritzburg College for high school. Murray then went on to study mechanical engineering at Stellenbosch University, where they earned both their bachelor's and master's degrees.

Their manager is Ryno Bosman, Head of Projects. Murray Starr works with Andrew Edwards - Project Manager, Luke Pitchford - Project Manager, and Daniel Stokell - Project Manager.
