Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen is a Principal Software Engineer at New Sun Road, leading the full-stack development of the "Stellar Microgrid OS" dashboard and server platform for centralized, cloud-based management of microgrids and other remote power systems. Prior to this, Michael worked as a Consultant at Sustainable Development Solutions Network, focusing on product management of energy transition modeling software, and as a Western States Electrical Power Systems Engineer at Union of Concerned Scientists, addressing key issues in California's Integrated Resource Planning proceeding. Michael holds a PhD in Energy and Resources from UC Berkeley and has a background in software engineering, business analysis, and educational computing.
