Nancy Mathison

Nancy Mathison is a distinguished clarinetist with a diverse range of experience in music performance and education. As Co-Founder and Principal Clarinet of the Santa Barbara Chamber Players since January 2022, Nancy has contributed significantly to the local music scene. Nancy holds positions with the New West Symphony as Third and Bass Clarinet and serves as Second Clarinet for both the Santa Maria Philharmonic and Symphony of the Vines. Additionally, Nancy plays a pivotal role in the Folk Orchestra of Santa Barbara as Principal Flute and Clarinet. Nancy co-founded the South Coast Youth Band and co-directed the BRAVO! program in Santa Barbara, both aimed at providing musical education to younger students. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Southern California, a Master's Degree from UC Santa Barbara, and a Single Subject Teaching Credential from Chapman University.
