Caitlyn James

Educator, Department Head, Counsellor at New Westminster Schools - District No. 40

Caitlyn James has a strong background in education and counseling. Caitlyn started their career in 1999 at the New Westminster School District No. 40, where they taught and provided counseling to students aged 13 to 16. In 2004, they founded Eye of the Storm Educational Services, where they developed educational programs and provided consulting services to daycare centers, schools, parent groups, and workshops. In 2016, they became a Registered Clinical Counsellor at Imagining Better Counselling and Education Services, where they continue to work. Additionally, from 2016 to 2018, they served as a Counsellor Affiliate at Moving Forward Family Services. Caitlyn holds a Master's degree in Curriculum Design & Instruction.

Caitlyn James has a diverse education background. Caitlyn began their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts (Creative Writing) from The University of British Columbia, which they completed between 1978 and 1987. Following this, Caitlyn pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Education at the University of Victoria from 1995 to 1997. Caitlyn then decided to pursue further studies and obtained a Master's Degree in Education, specializing in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Imaginative Education from Simon Fraser University from 2005 to 2007. Finally, Caitlyn completed their education by earning a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University from 2013 to 2016.
