Martin Sher currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Artistic Planning and Programs at New World Symphony, a position held since January 2019. Additionally, Martin functions as a consultant for both The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and North Carolina Symphony. Martin's extensive experience in the orchestral field includes previous roles as Vice President and General Manager at North Carolina Symphony, Vice President of Artistic Planning at Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Management Fellow at League of American Orchestras. As a cofounder of CultureBase Interactive LLC, Martin contributed to innovative projects in the arts. A trained musician, Martin played the viola with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and holds a Master's degree in Music Performance from Stony Brook University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from The Johns Hopkins University.
