Elena Rios, MD, MSPH, MACP, currently serves as the President of the National Hispanic Health Foundation, a role held since January 2002, where responsibilities include coordinating various health initiatives aimed at Hispanic communities. Additionally, Elena Rios holds a Trustee position at The New York Academy of Medicine since July 2018, overseeing health research and programs focused on urban health equity. From October 1998 to May 2024, Elena Rios was the President & CEO of the National Hispanic Medical Association, advocating for the health of Hispanic populations through collaboration with medical professionals and partners. Previous experience includes serving as a Board Member at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and as an Advisor for Regional & Minority Women's Health at the US Department of Health and Human Services. Educational achievements include an MD from UCLA Medical School, an MSPH from UCLA Public Health School, a Health Policy Fellowship from UCLA, and a BA in Human Bio/Public Administration from Stanford University.
