Kevin Chin

System Engineer III at New York Air Brake Corporation

Kevin Chin has over 30 years of work experience as a systems engineer in various companies. Kevin started their career at Raytheon in 1984, where they tested and measured laser and electro-optical ranging systems. Kevin then worked at E-Systems (now L-3 Communications) from 1987 to 1989, where they investigated optical distortion correction methods and oversaw testing initiatives for an airborne surveillance system. Kevin then joined Texas Instruments - DSEG (now Raytheon) in 1989, where they led a rotation team in a data collection effort for a defense program and developed simulation models and tracking algorithms. At Raytheon from 1998 to 2000, they directed image/track processing algorithm development projects and designed a high-speed processor architecture. Kevin then worked at Texas Instruments - DLP from 2000 to 2013 and served as a system engineer, managing a project to enhance tool suite capabilities and acting as a liaison for new product roll-outs. In 2014, they briefly worked as an independent contractor at Keynote Photonics, where they generated board schematics and tested spectroscopy units. Currently, Kevin is a system engineer at New York Air Brake since 2014.

Kevin Chin earned their Bachelor's Degree in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University, graduating in 1984. Kevin then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, completing their studies in 1986. After a substantial gap, Kevin returned to education and attained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas, specializing in Corporate Finance between the years 2000 and 2004. Continuing their pursuit of knowledge, they obtained various certifications in Project Management, Security+, Network+, A+, and Internet Marketing from Collin College, spanning from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, Kevin Chin acquired the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2016.
