Senior Director of Conflict Resolution Services at NEW YORK CENTER FOR INTERPERSONAL DEVELOPMENT INC

Sequoia is the Director of Conflict Resolution Services and the Director of the Training Institute at New York Center for Interpersonal Development, the Richmond County Community Dispute Resolution Center. In this role, he oversees all of New York Center’s mediation programs and trainings, with a yearly caseload of over 800 cases.

Sequoia is a mediator/attorney practicing in New York City serving as the principal of Stalder Mediation, a private mediation firm in New York City. As a recognized expert in mediation and the dynamics of conflict, he regularly provides beginner and advanced mediation trainings to a diverse array of professionals including lawyers, judges, therapists, teachers and others. Sequoia is certified by the New York State Court System’s Community Dispute Resolution Centers Program to provide 30-hour basic mediation training. Both his basic mediation training and divorce mediation training are certified under New York State Court Rule Part 146.

Sequoia is an Adjunct Professor of mediation and negotiation at Columbia University’s International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution and a member of the training faculty for The Center for Understanding in Conflict (Center for Mediation in Law).
