James Vrooman has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of risk management and business continuity. James currently holds the position of Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management at New York Central Mutual since 2018. Before that, they served as the Director of Business Continuity at Radian from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they held the role of Vice President, Crisis Prevention and Management at Erie Insurance Group from 2011 to 2017.

James also has experience in the healthcare industry as the Manager of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery at HealthNow New York Inc. from 2008 to 2011. James started their career in 1977 as the Chief of Security Force Inspections at USAF Security Forces, where they served until 2000.

Additionally, James has worked in various consulting and advisory roles. James was an Associate - Senior Security and Emergency Management Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton from 2003 to 2008. James also served as the Director of Homeland Security Division at Communications Resource, Inc. from 2002 to 2003. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Counterterrorism Intelligence Officer/Analyst at Zel Technologies from 2001 to 2002, where they provided senior advisory services to the Department of Defense Counterterrorism Operations Group.

James Vrooman, CBCP, MBCI obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management from the University of Maryland in the period between 1987 and 1993. Later, they pursued a Master's degree (MA) in Business & Organizational Security Management from Webster University during the years 2003 to 2005. James also acquired a Certificate in Business Continuity and Crisis Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at an unknown date.
