Courtne Thomas-Washington

Courtne Thomas-Washington, Ed.D., serves as the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction at New York Edge since March 2021, where responsibilities include developing strategic plans, managing compliance and budgets related to the US Department of Education Jacob Javits Grant, overseeing HR functions, leading a team of 24, and fostering partnerships while managing data. Previously, Courtne held positions as Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Educational Elevation, Inc., where the focus was on instructional program design, training evaluations, and professional development, and as School Principal at Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls. Additional experience includes roles with Newark Public Schools in student support services, teaching language arts in East Orange School District, and positions in outreach coordination and adjunct faculty. Courtne obtained a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Rowan University, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
