Tim McDonnell

Tim McDonnell is in his second year as the Giants' Director of Player Personnel, having previously serving as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel for two seasons. Prior to that, he spent six years as a Pro Scout for the Giants.

In his current role, McDonnell evaluates both pro and college players while working closely with general manager Dave Gettleman and vice president of football operations and assistant general manager Kevin Abrams on all personnel decisions and strategic planning.

Before joining the Giants, McDonnell worked for eight years in the Notre Dame football program in a variety of roles, the last six as the director of player personnel/director of football personnel, a role in which he organized and administered the Irish recruiting efforts. McDonnell also served as a liaison between the Irish and NFL personnel, helped coordinate the walk-on program, and assisted in managing the roster under coaches Charlie Weis & Brian Kelly.

McDonnell is a 2005 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., and a three-year football letterman as a receiver. He was the inaugural recipient of the Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award in 2005, presented to the Holy Cross varsity athlete who best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship that coach Daniel Allen exhibited throughout his life. He also received the 2004 Unsung Hero Award as the player who supported the team spiritually, emotionally and physically for the good of the team.

A native of Harrison, N.Y., McDonnell graduated from Iona Prep before starting his collegiate career at Holy Cross. McDonnell is the grandson of Wellington Mara, the Giants' late and much-loved former president and a Pro Football Hall of Famer, and the late Ann Mara.

McDonnell is married to the former Marisa Meister. The couple has four young sons, Jack, Conor, Timothy and Wellington ("Wells").
