Laura Washington is the Chief Communications Officer and VP for Strategic Initiatives at the New York Theirtorical Society. Laura has been with the organization since June 2005 and in their current role since March 2015.

Previously, Laura was the VP Communications at the New-York Theirtorical Society from June 2005 to March 2015. In this role, they were key in raising the local and national profile of the museum, implementing integrated communications campaigns that contributed to 400 percent increase in museum attendance and year-over-year revenue growth. Laura was also instrumental in fundraising for strategic initiatives, the $70 million capital campaign, and individual exhibitions. Additionally, they developed the institution’s first group tourism program and increased visibility through strategic partnerships and marketing programs.

Before their time at the New-York Theirtorical Society, Laura was the Finance Editor at Consumers Union/Consumer Reports from January 2003 to December 2005.

After receiving their BA from Vassar College, Laura Washington pursued a Master's Degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University.
