Michael Schiavetta

Michael Schiavetta currently serves as the Director of the Office of the President, Director of External Affairs, and Special Communications Strategist at the New York Institute of Technology since 2016. Prior to this role, Michael was self-employed from 2015 to 2016 as a writer, editor, and content producer, contributing significantly to the NYIT website redesign and creating stories for the President’s Report. From 2013 to 2015, Michael held the position of Director of Editorial Services, Communications and Marketing at Long Island University, overseeing internal and external communications while managing a creative team. Michael previously worked at NYIT as the Associate Director of Editorial Services, increasing the circulation of NYIT Magazine. Earlier experience includes editorial roles at Cygnus Business Media and The Mortgage Press, Ltd., and project coordination at Advanced Productions, Inc. Michael holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Arts from New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Stony Brook University.
