Jennifer Newman

Jennifer Newman is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in corporate compliance and ethics in the financial services sector. Currently serving as Vice President and Chief Ethics Officer at New York Life Insurance Company since September 2005, Jennifer is responsible for designing and maintaining an ethics program that reflects the company's integrity. Prior roles include leading the Corporate Compliance Department's Foundational Business Product Advice & Guidance and Policy and Strategy teams, managing the Product and Suitability Compliance Unit, and serving as Associate General Counsel, where contributions included the development of complex institutional insurance products and compliance advice under the Investment Adviser Act of 1940. Prior to New York Life, Jennifer held a role as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Citicorp Investment Services, focusing on consumer-initiated sales practice complaints. Jennifer holds a BA, cum laude, in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University and a JD, cum laude, from Cardozo School of Law.
