Joseph Kessler

Joseph Kessler is the EVP and Chief Operating Officer at New York Power Authority. Joseph has also worked as a Research Assistant at University at Buffalo, an Electrical Designer at Trautman Associates, and a Senior Sales Specialist at WESCO Distribution.

Kessler began their career in 1987 as a Senior Sales Specialist at WESCO Distribution. In 1995, they transitioned to Trautman Associates as an Electrical Designer. Joseph continued working in this role until 1997 when they became a Research Assistant at University at Buffalo. In 2000, they completed a feasibility study for alternative power sources for a telecommunications company with an emphasis on fuel cell technology.

After leaving University at Buffalo in 2000, Kessler began working at New York Power Authority. Joseph has been in their current role as EVP and Chief Operating Officer since 2015.

Joseph Kessler attended the University at Buffalo for their MBA in Business Administration and Management, as well as their M. Eng in Electrical Engineering. Joseph also holds a BS from the University at Buffalo in Electrical Engineering. In addition, they have a certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in Airman Certificate - Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft System, OSHA in 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course, New York State in Professional Engineer, State of Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in Professional Engineer, and USA Hockey in Coaching Education Program - Level 1.

Joseph Kessler reports to Gil C. Quiniones, President and Chief Executive Officer. They work with Kristine Pizzo - EVP and Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, Daniella Piper - Chief of Staff and VP Digital Transformation Officer, and Justin E. Driscoll - EVP and General Counsel.
