Miguel Hermo has extensive experience in the power industry, with a specialization in hydroelectric projects. Miguel began their career as a Senior Project Engineer at the New York Power Authority in 1984, where they worked on various tasks related to the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant Upgrade. Miguel then joined Moore Research Center, Inc. as a Senior Project Manager, managing contracts and leading development teams for projects throughout North and South America. Afterward, Hermo worked as a Project Manager at Sempra Energy Solutions, managing and negotiating contracts for gas turbines and combined cycle plants. Miguel returned to the New York Power Authority as a Senior Engineer, providing technical expertise for major capital programs. Following that, they joined Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America as the Director of Hydro Operations and Supplier Quality, and later as the Director of Quality, leading cross-functional teams and ensuring supplier and product performance. Currently, Hermo is the Director of Hydroelectric Engineering at the New York Power Authority, overseeing a centralized engineering team responsible for upgrades and maintenance at hydropower projects.
Miguel Hermo has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, which they obtained between 1980 and 1984. Miguel also holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the University at Buffalo School of Management, achieved through their Executive Program between 1998 and 2000. Miguel Hermo has an additional certification as a Professional Engineer in the state of New York.
