Martha Ball

Martha Ball has a diverse work experience in arts and archival positions. Martha began their career as a Gallery Intern at International Arts & Artists in 2016, where they managed social media, engaged with visitors, and coordinated exhibitions and programming. Martha then worked as a Freelance Public Arts Database + Archives at Greater Columbus Arts Council, processing and cataloging records and photographs for public art in Columbus. Martha also served as a Visitor Engagement Intern and Visitor Engagement Associate at Columbus Museum of Art, where they facilitated visitor experiences. Martha further developed their archival skills as a D.C. Punk Archive Volunteer at DC Public Library, processing collections and organizing researcher experiences. At Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens, they worked as a Development Assistant, designing donor interactions with archival collections and managing data within a customer relations management database. Martha gained experience in advancement support and strategic planning as a 50th Anniversary Intern and Virtual Advancement Support in Smithsonian Libraries and Archives. At Harvard Radcliffe Institute, they were a Processing Assistant, arranging and describing archival materials for an exhibition on reproductive rights. Most recently, Martha joined Creatd as a Project Cataloger, overseeing archives and developing processing plans for multimedia collections.

Martha Ball pursued their education in a sequential manner, starting with a Bachelor's Degree in History from The George Washington University, which they completed from 2014 to 2018. Martha then proceeded to pursue a Master of Science in Archives Management from Simmons University's School of Library and Information Science, which they completed from 2020 to 2022.
