Christopher Friend

Christopher Friend currently serves as the Director of Housing, Labor, Local & General Government for the New York State Senate, a position held since December 2019, overseeing fiscal policy for key sectors within the State Senate Democratic Conference. Previously, Christopher held positions as Principal Analyst and Senior Budget Analyst, focusing on budget analysis and legislative recommendations in various areas such as housing, labor, and pensions. Prior experience includes a role as Budget Fellow II with the NYS Division of the Budget and as Legislative Budget Analyst for the New York State Assembly, where responsibilities encompassed fiscal analysis, budget negotiation, and collaboration with lawmakers and interest groups. Christopher earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from the University at Albany.
